Palatine keeps pace in Mid Suburban West with easy win over Hoffman Estates! News and notes!!!!
I had a feeling this may not be much of a game tonight in Palatine. Palatine is in the top of the division and Hoffman Estates had not won a game in the division. It was about individual talents like junior Connor May of Palatine and senior forward DJ Wallace of Hoffman Estates. Here we go:
Palatine 57 Hoffman Estates 32: Palatine is a very good and balanced team. Good passing team on the interior and on kickouts to three point shooters. They owned this game from the start. Palatine led 17-5 after one quarter, 34-16 at half, 53-24 at end of three and got to the 30 point running clock with about six minutes to play. Connor May (6'7" wing) was as advertised though he shot 6 of 14 for the game , he had 15 points 10 rebounds (double/double) 2 assists 3 steals and a block. Senior forward Tyler Swierczek (6'3") came off the bench and had 16 points 2 assists and 2 steals. Senior point guard Sam Millstone (5'10") had a perfect game from the field tonight. He had 14 points on 5 of 5 from the field, 4 of 4 from three with 4 assists and 1 steal. Senior forward DJ Wallace (6'9") had 18 points and 5 rebounds to lead Hoffman Estates. Palatine ups it's record to 15-6, 5-1 in conference. Hoffman Estates falls to 10-10, 0-6 in conference.
BUY STOCK IN DJ WALLACE!!!!!: Yes his team took it on the chin tonight but this young man can play. He has a soft touch from 15 feet in, can take it off the dribble and finish at the rim. He was not able to show his three point stroke tonight, but he can shoot it from out there. He's a good rim protector in the paint. Colleges need to take as serious look at this young man. He's a definite futures market young man. Oh yeah he's a high academic young man. Long wing span and a monster who will be a good investment putting 20 to 30 pounds of good weight on him.
Hyde Park Academy upsets #1 Kenwood Academy (Chicago). Could Kenwood have been looking ahead to their 2 showdowns over the next two days?
Stefan Cicic a 20/20 game tonight.
Brett Gomez one assists from a triple double.
